GUIDED CHAOS™ T-SHIRTS

Black Guided Chaos t-shirts with the unique, trademarked Guided Chaos logo (designed by Grandmaster John Perkins and Bob Alexander in 1987).

ORIGIN OF GUIDED CHAOS LOGO

John Perkins began experimenting with free associative fighting principles in 1965, combining Native American and Close Combat systems. In 1971 he began to create the rudiments of what would eventually become a new art. Finally in 1978, Perkins broke away from all classical systems and created Ki Chuan Do, “the Way of the Spirit Fist.”
The art was also called Guided Chaos but in the '70s, American martial arts was in love with all things Asian, hence the Asian name. In 1987 Perkins designed the Guided Chaos emblem, symbolizing the melding of the best of eastern and western fighting arts. The name Ki Chuan Do was phased out to reflect the system's real "made in America" roots (actually Yonkers, NY).

The two outer rings represent the eternal circle of life and the principle of return. The jagged square is Native American, symbolizing lightning, mountains and the pinnacle of achievement. The four pairs of rectangles represent the four directions and the four elements, earth, air, fire, and water. The Yin Yang symbol in the center, which embodies the inter-relationship of all opposing forces in the universe, ties all the symbols together.
